Clairvoyant MAURICE AMDUR has done over 3000 readings, including members of the royal families and countless celebrities. JANN CARL sat down with him to get his story, and his thoughts on PRINCESS DIANA's tragic end, plus the word on JULIA ROBERTS' love life!

JANN: When did you first find out you had this ability?

MAURICE AMDUR: Well, I've been reading for people for approximately 10 years. But I suppose when I was a child, it was there.  I used to come out with funny statements and odd things happened to me all my life. Now, having an understanding of astrology and numerology, and knowing that I'm born on what's called the Day of the Standout, August 21, on the cusp of Leo and Virgo, and my moon is in Aquarius, I tend to understand things a little better.  In fact, Leo Virgo cusp people usually try to hide, but the more they try to hide, the more they have to reveal themselves. When I was around 11, I started to have what I now realize were unusual dreams.  I suppose I'm not normal. But, I used to see events in dreams and I used to foresee things that were going to happen.  I used to tell my parents these different things. Around the age of 11, I had a dream and in the dream, I was going in and out of video stores, renting video cassettes with movies on them. Well, I'm 37.  In 1975, '76, there weren't any video stores, and there was no way of renting movies.  I've always been a film buff. I told my father the next day that I think there's going to be some kind of market for film to be put on videotape, and that people would rent them, like they go to the library to get a book. He didn't take too much notice.

But he used to listen to me on advice in his business affairs, and I helped my mother and father build an extremely successful business for a long period of time.  It used to cause quite a lot of conflict when he walked this 11-year-old in to negotiate for him.  That was really very amusing. It wasn't until I was in my early 20’s that I realized something was going on -- that was when I first started to have what I'm going to call precognitive dreams for myself. In my entire life, I've only had four, and each one has been vivid and more accurate ... they make me shake.

JANN: How do you describe what actually happens, when you meet someone and you get the feeling?

MAURICE: Recently, I saw a movie called 'The Gift,' which I thought was superb. In that there's a girl playing a gifted psychic, and, of course, she's very misunderstood as we often are. You're either everybody's favorite party guest, or the ogre. Keep him away! So in that, they show her having visions like little cinema screens.  She sees things, flashes. Now, sometimes I hear voices - I'm not nuts, but I hear voices and they tell me things. Other times I drift off somewhere and it's like a cinema screen in front of my face. Sometimes I just feel it.  It's hard to describe, but originally, it was very frightening.  Now, I'm much more in tune with It, more relaxed about it.

JANN: I know that you have read for a lot of famous people.

MAURICE: Indeed, but I always let them sign, with me, a confidentiality agreement, and I never discuss their personal lives.

JANN: You knew Princess Diana.

MAURICE: She's one of the many members of different royal families that I've come into contact with in my years as a clairvoyant, yes.  She was a wonderful person, by the way.

JANN: You studied her birthday and her numerology...

MAURICE: Yeah, she was a July 1 Cancerian, and she shares her birthday with DAN AYKROYD, PAMELA ANDERSON.  She was very emotional and sensitive to other people's feelings. In fact, that's possibly what ruined her life, the fact that she couldn't necessarily get in touch with her own emotions.  Being so kind and considerate and thoughtful as she was.  She was too busy worrying about everyone else to worry about herself. What I will say is that maybe one of the reasons she isn't around is she was so busy helping everyone else.  She didn't look to her own interests.

JANN: Do you get feelings about stars when you read about them?

MAURICE: Yes, all the time. When I watch them in movies, I know what's going on in their lives. I do lots of impressions, I love doing impressions of their voices and their mannerisms, and when I started doing this, I started to feel them out -- pardon the expression -- and it's weird, because I get the person over and above the voice.  And that's kind of frightening, especially if they're dead.
