Maurice says during the reading ‘Lisa’s high cheekbones are a typical shape for an air or earth sign, but I’m not certain yet. She’s had plastic surgery on her nose.’
Lisa says after the reading ‘True. I’ve had my nose straightened. As a teenager I was conscious of a bump – though probably no one else noticed.’
Maurice ‘When I hold her writing hand flat I see her fingers don’t bend upwards very much, they lie flat with the rest of her hand. This tells me she’s very commitment oriented.’
Lisa ‘Family is the most important thing to me, and I’ve had two long-term partners. I was with my sons’ father for eight years and then my last boyfriend for seven. I don’t like to mess around.’
Maurice ‘She has always been an individual with direction, but she had extra family responsibilities as a child. She had to look after another sibling which caused her ambitions to be put on hold.’
Lisa ‘He’s right – to an extent. My parents divorced when I was 13 and me and my prother had a difficult time. We stayed with our mum, while Dad left. As the oldest child I felt the responsibility of having to help keep things going and I was asked to help out. But it didn’t make me put my ambitions on hold.’
Maurice ‘I feel she has some connection with the media or experience in modelling. She’s been near cameras before.’
Lisa ‘True. When I was 15 I won a modelling competition at school, and left Derby a year later to come to London and train at the Lucy Clayton School of Modelling.’
Maurice ‘You had a big shot at the media spotlight – either in the past or it’s yet to come.’
Lisa ‘Possibly. I did a few modelling assignments but it was always a bit of fun rather than a serious career. I went on to work in the catering trade before meeting the father of my two sons and settling down. Perhaps I have greater fame yet to come!’
Maurice ‘She will have two opportunities for deep commitment or marriage in her life. I feel she’s aged 43 or 42.
Lisa ‘I am 42 years old. I’ve already had two major relationships in my life – perhaps I’ve had my quota! Or maybe because I’ve only been married once, there will be another marriage.
Maurice ‘She may have up to three children. At the moment she has either two boys or a boy and a girl. If it’s two boys, one has feminine qualities – like a very beautiful face.’
Lisa ‘Partly true. I have two teenage sons, Jackson, 16, and Buster, 13. On the way here I dropped Jackson off at a casting studio. He has fine features and did some modelling as a child.’
Maurice ‘She is a Sagittarian whose moon sign is Capricorn, which means she is artistic and can be manipulative, but not in a negative way.’
Lisa ‘I’m a Sagittarian with a Capricorn moon sign. I’ve always been artistic and so it seemed a natural step to train as a lifestyle photographer. I don’t think I’m manipulative – I find it difficult to even ask for a favour.
Maurice ‘Eight to nine years ago she had a crisis point. It made her think “What do I want out of life?” She emerged a brand new person who was stronger and calmer.’
Lisa ‘True. Five years ago I split up with my long-term boyfriend who I met in France. It was a big upheaval as we’d lived together for seven years. Me and the boys returned to England and had to start all over again.’
Maurice ‘About four to five years ago there was a whole new direction for her. There were new people coming into her life. I can see situations with pubs and restaurants.’
Lisa ‘This fits in with my return to England. First I had to find somewhere to live and work and then I started to build a new circle of friends.’
Maurice ‘Her Capricorn moon has led her to be fearful about her own health and mortality. This has been at times of stress.’
Lisa ‘He’s correct. I was always really healthy until the age of 39 when I found a lump and was diagnosed with breast cancer. Since then I have been extremely vigilant about checking for more lumps in case it ever comes back.’
Maurice ‘Three years ago her confidence was severely knocked.’
Lisa ‘Having a life-threatening illness was a terrible shock and I was alone with two young sons to look after. I had three operations and they removed one of my breasts. It was such a life-changing time that I was surprised Maurice didn’t pick up on the cancer. He did say I was fearful about my mortality and my confidence was severely knocked around this time, though.’
Maurice ‘Two years ago, after a difficult time with depression, she had to come round to making some tough decisions.’
Lisa ‘True. To get everyone through the cancer treatment I found myself follying family and friends along. But I could feel the pressure building up. The nightmare got worse when my dad, who was nursing me, caught pneumonia and died. Scattering his ashes seemed to act like a catalyst, and I sank into a depression. The I realised the only option was to pull myself together and carry on.’
Maurice ‘She’s currently decorating and changing her home. She has been getting very organized. I wouldn’t be surprised if she was sorting out her bank account too.’
Lisa ‘He’s right. But it’s more like clearing out my bank account! I’m up to my eyes in painting and decorating. I moved into my flat just before I fell ill, and now is the first time I’ve felt ready to get on and decorate.’
Maurice ‘She has an excellent business acumen. She holds strong opinions but is able to take a step back. Sagittarians don’t tell people things – they just blurt it out. But she has learnt to be more patient and understanding. This year she will do a lot of rethinking about her identity.’
Lisa ‘Like most people, I think I’ve learnt to be more patient as I’ve grown older. But I certainly feel this is the year for getting my life in order.’
Maurice ‘She is intuitive with good gut instincts. Like most Sagittarians she likes to help people.’
Lisa ‘This is true. I do enjoy helping people if I possibly can.’
Maurice ‘She had a relationship split four or five years ago, but she will go on to meet a younger man. He will be an Aquarian and she’ll have a daughter with him. He will be 6ft tall with blue eyes and blond receding hair.’
Lisa ‘No comment! I did want a daughter, but now I’d be horrified to fall pregnant again. I feel like my family is complete. Next time I’m planning on going for an older man who isn’t concerned about his looks and can just be committed to me. So I’ll be keeping my eyes peeled for the man Maurice described – so I can avoid him!’

Lisa’s conclusion ‘Maurice was a larger-than-life character. As soon as I met him he started analysis my face and the shape of my hands. Then, almost immediately, he began reeling off statements about my personality and life. I kept silent throughout, mentally taking a note of what was right. When the journalist went through what Maurice had said, I was most impressed with his ability to pinpoint times when significant events happened. Having breast cancer completely changed my attitude to life and I thought he may have been more specific about the actual illness. But again, he got the timing right, describing how I was worried about my own mortality. Overall I felt he got a lot of facts right – and the experience of having a professional reading was fascinating.’
